It has taken a long time for me to become more confident within myself and my body. Everyone has flaws and things they do not like about their shape, or lack of; but with age and experience, comes love and acceptance. Acceptance of the things we cannot change and the ability to embrace the things we can.
It is not often that I get the chance (or time) to dress up and feel beautiful. As a contemporary portrait photographer, I am always behind the camera, but at a recent event in Collinsville, the Chicks for Charity Masquerade Ball, I thought ‘Why not!’ I was wearing a beautiful dress, I had time to put on some makeup, style my hair, and so, I thought ‘I’m going to get a photo for myself!’ I wanted an image that captures my beauty, because I feel beautiful!
Your pose and poise can change the way you look in portrait photos. The things that I didn’t like about my physical appearance were still there, but as a portrait photographer I know how to pose and create a connection that emanates confidence. I encourage you to take the time to cherish yourself. Treat yourself to a glamour portrait sitting where you will be pampered with hair and makeup styling and a personalised photoshoot, where I can take the time to pose you and capture your beauty. It is the ultimate experience to feel beautiful and look beautiful.
